To involve parents more fully in their child’s learning, a programme of curricular workshops also takes place at intervals throughout the year. Newsletters with details of happenings of general interest are sent out each month in addition to more frequent communications regarding events of a more social nature.
Information can also be found on our school website address. Our nursery class uses E Learning Journals to share experiences and communicate with parents and our school uses Google Classroom for homework.

Parent Teacher Association
We have an enthusiastic Parent Teacher Association which deserves the support of all parents. It works diligently to raise funds to provide additional extras which enhance each child’s school life. Any parent interested in joining the association would be made most welcome.

These activities have been wide ranging and imaginative, including Hallowe’en parties, family nights, Christmas and summer fayres and discos for the children. We are fortunate that our committee are enthusiastic and energetic although they would appreciate more parental help. At our AGM which is normally held at the beginning of the school session a committee is elected from which office bearers are chosen. Meetings are usually held on a monthly basis. Times and dates are posted in the school and in newsletters. Any parent wishing further information should contact the school.

There are many areas of life in school which would be almost impossible without the help of parents. We never refuse an offer to help – indeed we ask for help on many occasions, with excellent results. Not everyone can commit themselves to helping on a regular basis but may be able to help occasionally with such things as accompanying children on outings and supporting children in active learning, and so on. Parent helpers have been assisting in school on a regular basis for many years and we are most grateful for this help which hopefully will extend each year. All parent helpers must complete a Disclosure Scotland form.
